Residential addiction treatment provider, The Rutland Centre, use Esendex to enable them to keep in contact with their clients in order to provide outstanding continuing care.
The Rutland Centre, the largest alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre in Ireland has helped thousands of individuals recover from addiction over the last 30 years. They are committed to continuing post-residential treatment and found that the most effective way to contact most of their clients once they left the centre was by text message. Prior to using Esendex’s Web SMS service the centre had one mobile phone which was shared between multiple counsellors. Even though messages could be sent using the service provider’s online text messaging system by the counsellors who were not in possession of the actual mobile phone, the real problems arose when replies were received as it was problematic trying to get them to the appropriate member of staff. Web SMS provides a convenient easy-to-use method for the staff at The Rutland Centre to send and receive SMS from any PC at any time.
IT Project Manager at the centre, searched the internet to find a web-based SMS provider and trialled another service before coming to Esendex but found our Web SMS solution much simpler to use and she has been particularly impressed with the efficient way in which they can now manage their contact list.
Originally the service was adopted for use by the counsellors to contact patients to check on their progress but it has become widely used throughout the centre, as the Project Manager explains:
“People quickly found ways of taking advantage of the SMS service. It is still used most frequently by the continuing care department to contact clients but reception staff also use it to remind people about appointments and check attendance for meetings. The service grew very quickly for us and within 3 months of starting the service we had to increase our SMS package by more than double.”
