Below are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our Email to SMS service. In addition, our support site contain more information about how best to use our Email SMS service.

How good is your Email SMS service?

We have direct network connections in Ireland, which means your SMS messages are delivered within seconds.  We will always use the best performing network at any time to deliver your SMS messages.

Who can I send SMS messages to?

You can send an SMS message to a mobile phone on any Irish networks, including the "virtual networks" such as Virgin Mobile. You can also send messages to the vast majority of international handsets and to domestic users who are overseas (provided they have set their phones up for international roaming).

Which email clients integrate with Email SMS?

Email SMS allows you to send and receive SMS via MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, Novell Groupwise and almost any other email software.

What is Email forwarding?

Email forwarding allows you to receive emails to an email account that you specify. To set this up, go to options in Echo for email settings then 'email forwarding' and type in the email address (or list of email addresses) that the SMS is to be forwarded to.

How simple is Email SMS to use?

Email to SMS is very straightforward to use, so no training is required. We have provided further information on how to set up Email to SMS on our support site. Once configured the format for sending Email SMS is - mobilenumber@echoemail.net . If you need further help, simply contact your account manager and they will be able to answer any questions you have about our Email to SMS service. Alternatively, you can refer to our support pages.

What is a customised Sender ID?

By default messages are sent from the virtual mobile number that is assigned to your account when you set it up. The customised sender ID allows you to change this to an 11 character combination of letters or numbers such as your company name, department or member of staff.  You can set this up in your free Web account. When the recipient receives your SMS they will see this name rather than a mobile number. Unlike other messaging providers, we provide this service for free. How do I configure my Email account to send and receive SMS?

What level of support do I get?

Technical support is provided free of charge either by emailing support@esendex.com or calling
01 631 9410 during office hours – 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Is it easy to manage my account?

It is very quick and easy to manage your account. Login to your account via our website and view recent activity, see how many messages are left in the account and purchase credits at any time. We will also send you automated low credit warning emails to let you know when your messaging limit is running low.

What payment options do you offer for Email SMS?
